Old Man Time. Originally by Jimmy Durante and this version is Joe Pesci. I don't know where I first heard it ( maybe here ) but want to learn it. Anyone got the lead sheet or chord chart?

Never heard it before, but would be great for my NH gigs. The melody is predictable, just need the words.

Thanks Bill

Thanks, Col ... yeah I noticed it, but it was just a quick take ... it needs a lot more work ...
I am using the 'RECORD' function on the PA900 primarily as a 'learning/practice' tool ... anything I record to keep, I record with my ZOOM H4n, then process through Audacity for editing, fx, etc. ...
But thank you for the comment, and yes, I did enjoy the tune ...

The Pesci version is quite different from the Jimmy Durante version ... but I would expect that ... laugh2
I would love to have heard Louis Prima and Keely Smith do this tune ...

Tony

Just what I was thinking. Great Shuffle to do with a Louis Prima Tune. Good demo and done so fast !

Thanks for the help guys and glad you enjoyed it. Col, Lead sheet is great.
I thought it perfect because so many of us play to older crowds.

Nice version. He was a genius. I wonder if he wrote the band arrangement

The tune sounds like a cross between Mack the Knife and Give Me Sunshine with new lyrics tacked on. Nice job there, Tony.

Bill he seemed to be humble and worked with any and everyone. Maybe it was a collaboration with Quincy?

124 ... thank you ... I was figuring out the chords before the chart was posted, and I was thinking "Danke Shoen" ...
I also do a 'Bobby Darin' kind of arrangement to "My Darling Clementine" with modulation changes on each chorus like "Mack the Knife" and this tune ...

Bill ... as I said in the above post, when listening to it a couple of times, and then listening to Jimmy Durante's version, I thought "Danke Shoen" chord changes, so it came to me pretty quickly ... although in what I guess would be called the bridge I did have a different progression, so the wiki chart helped me with that ...

Tony, When I Got A Woman came out, my first band all went Ray Charles crazy. We learned everything that he did, from Drown In My Own Tears to The Mess Around. To me he and Frank did the biggest variety of tunes and I never became bored with anything that either one of them did. Now it's Steve Tyrell, for me. It's got a lot to do with the musicians that they surround themselves with. All of them are AAA, A#1, Top Of The Heap, King Of The Hill musicians that all other musicians would like to be a good as. In other words, they were and are "Musicians" "MUSICIANS!!!"
